  • Lead and develop a team of 3 Career Practitioners and 1 intern

  • Manage the Career Centre’s budget ensuring costs are on track for the financial year

  • Manage and approve operational requests including all employee’s leave and training

  • Assign and delegate work requests across the team.  Key liaison with staff across Unitec

  • Manage the Career Centre Job site and key liaison with employers

  • Provide guidance, course advice and employment support to students, graduates and members of the public

  • Deliver career initiatives including the implementation of the Tertiary Career Development Benchmarks and creating context-specific presentations for departments and support services

  • Worked one‐on-one and with groups of staff to identify opportunities to enhance their wellbeing and develop a personal wellness plan

  • Provided career guidance and advice to clients.  Worked with individuals and groups including youth, Maori and Pasifika, migrants to the recently unemployed

  • Carried out a needs analysis and delivering an appropriate intervention including face-to-face careers counselling, phone guidance, online guidance and facilitating group guidance sessions

  • Project managed the Career Mentor programme for Dress for Success Auckland www.dressforsuccess.org and successfully trained 10 mentors in the 2011 pilot project

  • Organised social events and actively promoted ‘wellbeing’ topics as an OSH representative
